PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yormomza Built (ranked 265 p4p, 170 weight class) and Andy Bangsit (ranked 42 p4p, 26 weight class). Built comes into the arena with Back That Azz Up blaring out of the sound system. Andy Bangsit told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yormomza Built!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 23 - 2, fighting out of London, Andy Bangsit!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.

Bangsit takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Bangsit tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Built defends well and Bangsit ends up having to push Built into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Built. That's going to slow Bangsit down.
Yormomza Built seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bangsit shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Built as he avoids it easily.
Bangsit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Built is fending him off so far but Bangsit persists. Nope, Built circles away and we're back to standing.
Yormomza Built has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Bangsit.

Built is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bangsit.

Built connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bangsit momentarily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bangsit has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Built is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Built tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bangsit's elbow.

Built pushes Bangsit back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Built misses with a hook to the ribs.
Built throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Built lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Built lands a body punch in the clinch.
Built tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bangsit looking for a takedown.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Built.
Still in the clinch, Built scores with a nice short uppercut.

Built misses with a hook to the ribs.

Built breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bangsit takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Built swings for the body but Bangsit moves out of range.
Bangsit is still on wobbly legs! Can Built finish him?

Built scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Built misses with a hook to the body

and Bangsit counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've been hearing good reports from Built's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Built wants to get back to his feet but Bangsit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Built seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Bangsit has gone for a leg lock! Built slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bangsit's guard.

Bangsit seems to have recovered his senses.
Bangsit keeping moving, preventing Built from controlling successfully.
Built showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Bangsit looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Built stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Bangsit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bangsit goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Built rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bangsit's guard! Nice work there by Built!
Bangsit can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Built controls the pace.

Bangsit working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Built doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bangsit is tightening it up a little... Built has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Built reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Built taps out! Nice BJJ there by Bangsit!
