Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karel Slezina (ranked 2541 p4p, 2792 weight class) and Sergei Volkov (ranked 354 p4p, 383 weight class). Slezina comes to the cage accompanied by No Escape. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Karel Slezina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.

Volkov shoots in for a takedown but Slezina shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Volkov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Slezina looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Slezina lands with a shot to the body.
A jab from Slezina does it's job there.
Volkov fails with a takedown attempt.
Karel Slezina has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Volkov.
Volkov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Slezina quickly recovers to half guard.
Slezina tries to roll over but Volkov keeps him under control.
Volkov wants to free his trapped foot but Slezina is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Slezina tries to get to full guard but Volkov has control of the leg.

Slezina is looking to control Volkov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Slezina avoid being mounted?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Slezina is trying to get back to full guard.
Volkov uses his free foot to push down on Slezina's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Slezina.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Slezina is trying to escape the mount.
Slezina sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Volkov scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Volkov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slezina with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Volkov working over Slezina with some ground and pound. Slezina looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Volkov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Slezina has hold of Volkov's hands but Volkov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ground and pound from Volkov.
Volkov drops an elbow to the side of Slezina's head.
Volkov lands a big elbow - Slezina is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Volkov!
