PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Conway (ranked 3059 p4p, 3060 weight class) and Spencer Wright (ranked 384 p4p, 385 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ricky Conway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Spencer Wright!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.

Conway takes a swing at Wright's ribcage but misses.
Wright with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Conway to score with a decent uppercut.
Conway scores with a punch to the head.
Conway throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wright stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Conway gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Conway moves away from the strike by Wright.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conway throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Wright to counter with a crisp jab.
Wright misses with a leg kick
and Conway counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Conway ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Conway throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wright rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Conway counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Conway connects with a right hand. Wright shakes it off.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Conway catches Wright with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Wright swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Conway.

Conway lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Conway is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wright.
Wright tries a quick counter leg kick but Conway is wise to it.

Wright has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Conway lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wright backwards.
Conway prevents Wright from breaking the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wright.
Wright trying to stall but Conway improves his position.

Conway cracks Wright with a right hand to the side of the head.
Conway misses the body punch
and Wright counters with a big head kick but Conway shrugs it off.
Conway misses with a looping right.
Conway throws a shot from downtown. Wright moves away and avoids it.
Wright throws a big counter head kick but Conway avoids it with no problem.
Conway lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Conway is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Conway lands a nice shot to the body.

Conway misses with a straight left.
Wright let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
It looks like Conway has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

The fighters circle momentarily. Conway darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Conway moves out of range as Wright strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Conway throws a hook to the side of Wright's head but Wright sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wright now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Wright throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Conway tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wright manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Wright throws out a counter right but Conway avoids it with no problem.

Conway tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wright was well out of range. Poor timing from Conway.

Conway thuds his right hand into Wright's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Wright lands with a kick to the ribs.
Conway is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wright can do to turn this around?

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Wright fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Conway has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Conway has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
