Hiko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gomu.
Hiko works Gomu's body with a nice hook.
Gomu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hiko can pounce on him.
Hiko misses with a left hand
and Gomu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Aki Hiko has been cut.
Hiko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hiko fails with a takedown attempt.

A counter left hand to the body from Gomu misses its target.
Nice defenses there by Gomu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hiko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gomu manages to avoid it.

and Gomu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Hiko! Gomu lets Hiko back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Gomu Gomu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
