Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christophe Dupree! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 23 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Monteiro! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

and Monteiro counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dupree misses with a body kick. Good standup being displayed there by Monteiro as he connects with a hook. Monteiro avoids the head kick by Dupree.
Dupree keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Monteiro. Dupree takes a swing at Monteiro's ribcage but misses. A punch lands to the side of Monteiro 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Tony Monteiro has been cut. Monteiro has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some wild striking there from Dupree.
Monteiro cracks Dupree with an uppercut from hell and Dupree crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Monteiro's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
It looks like Christophe Dupree has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monteiro decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dupree, up you get! Dupree scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Monteiro connects with a body shot that sends Dupree's belly button to the back. Dupree lands a nice hook to Monteiro's body. Monteiro takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Monteiro blocks the body kick.
Monteiro is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Dupree misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Monteiro uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. We've been told by Dupree's head coaches at Blood^and^Guts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Monteiro sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. A big right from Dupree misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monteiro throws a combination that misses and Dupree counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Monteiro throws a series of strikes that have Dupree backpedaling.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Monteiro takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Monteiro is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Dupree throws a head kick that half lands.
Monteiro with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dupree to score with a decent uppercut. Dupree connects with a jab. Dupree throws an off balance right hand
enabling Monteiro to counter with a crisp jab. Dupree tries a head kick but it misses.
It seemed like Monteiro was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BAM! Dupree delivers a spinning backfist that drops Monteiro like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Christophe Dupree! Christophe Dupree tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
