Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 5542 p4p, 5151 weight class) and Eldar Yanbaev (ranked 563 p4p, 549 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with The Next Episode - Dr. Dre blaring out of the sound system. Nick Diaz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eldar Yanbaev! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.

Diaz can't keep his opponent in guard - Yanbaev advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Diaz is trying to maintain the position but Yanbaev is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eldar Yanbaev dominated that round. That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Yanbaev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yanbaev scores with a push kick. Yanbaev misses with a wild body shot. Diaz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Diaz is trying to keep his angry face on. Yanbaev lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Diaz throws a lazy uppercut
and Yanbaev makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Nice sprawl there from Diaz as Yanbaev shoots in. Yanbaev with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Yanbaev connects with a solid leg kick. Yanbaev shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Diaz eats them both and turns towards Yanbaev to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Yanbaev throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Diaz. This has been an exciting period of action! Yanbaev connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Yanbaev darts in and clinches Diaz up against the cage. Yanbaev struggles to land a body shot inside as Diaz controls his hands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yanbaev tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Yanbaev lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Diaz backwards. Yanbaev lands a nice elbow. Yanbaev stalling the fight.

Eldar Yanbaev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Nick Diaz's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Diaz takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Yanbaev scores with a jab to the jaw. Yanbaev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yanbaev working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Yanbaev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yanbaev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yanbaev tries to move into full mount but can't pass Diaz's legs. The ground and pound from Yanbaev seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Yanbaev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Diaz has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Yanbaev slips a nice elbow through Diaz's hands, connecting with Diaz's forehead. Yanbaev is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diaz actively working from the bottom here. Yanbaev is figuring out what he wants to do next. Yanbaev has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Diaz defend it? Yanbaev steps over the head and cranks it - Diaz is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Yanbaev!
