Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edith Reaves (ranked 3614 p4p, 24567 weight class) and Jon Wick (ranked 449 p4p, 689 weight class). Jon Wick told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edith Reaves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Wick! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reaves throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Reaves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wick moves away. Wick lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Reaves takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jab, jab by Wick - just one landing. Reaves tries to move into range but Wick moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A big left from Wick misses. Reaves walks into a jab. Reaves connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Reaves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wick was well out of range. Poor timing from Reaves. Wick scores with a jab. Reaves acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Reaves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wick looks like he wants to counter punch here. Reaves throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jon Wick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wick blocks a head kick by Reaves.
Wick follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Reaves throws a big shot that misses. Good standup being displayed there by Wick as he connects with a hook. Reaves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wick is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wick wants to get back to his feet but Reaves drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reaves trying to control the action but Wick is working from the bottom. Wick struggling a bit here. Reaves just content to control the position. Wick is looking to reverse the position. Reaves looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Reaves wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wick, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Reaves remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Reaves thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wick is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Wick's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Reaves is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wick has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wick is looking for a sweep. Wick seems a little lost for a moment, as Reaves dominates the positioning. Reaves is trying to get an arm triangle but Wick is defending well. Reaves staying calm. Reaves is looking to take a break and control but Wick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Reaves looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wick is looking for a sweep. Wick is trying to control Reaves's posture but Reaves avoids it. Wick is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Reaves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Reaves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Wick is not content to let Reaves control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edith Reaves will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Wick swings for the body but Reaves moves out of range.
Wick tries to clinch up. Reaves shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Wick clobbers Reaves with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Wick plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Wick motions for Reaves to come forward. Wick throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Reaves is looking for a counter combo. Reaves tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick misses from Wick. Reaves takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Reaves tries to clinch but Wick moves out of range. Wick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Reaves paws at him with a jab and circles away. Reaves closes the distance and clinches. Wick tries to land a knee to the head but Reaves blocks with his arms.
Wick looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Reaves is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wick to keep the fight standing. Wick has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Reaves uses from the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wick is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Wick wants to get back to his feet but Reaves passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reaves wants to pass the guard but Wick is defending well. Wick wants to get back to full guard but Reaves has mounted him! Reaves trying to control but he's not successful this time. Reaves swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Wick is now in Reaves's guard. A big mistake from Reaves there, giving up the dominant position! Reaves is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Reaves looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Edith Reaves overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wick tries to free his leg and advance position but Reaves is retaining full guard. Reaves avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wick with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Reaves avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Reaves working for a triangle but Wick defends it easily.

Wick trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Wick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Reaves keeping moving, preventing Wick from controlling successfully. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Wick has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reaves is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reaves is looking for a triangle but Wick pushes his legs off easily.
Reaves controls Wick momentarily but Wick frees himself. Reaves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wick. Wick trying to control but Reaves is working from the bottom. Reaves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. My spies in Iron mikes mma inform me that Wick has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Reaves looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reaves controls Wick momentarily but Wick frees himself. Wick looking to sit in guard and control but Reaves gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Reaves sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wick's guard. Reaves is working for a kimura but Wick is defending it quite comfortably.
Reaves wants to take a breather but Wick is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reaves is working for a submission of some sort.

A close second round but Jon Wick will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Reaves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wick tries to clinch but Reaves moves out of range. Edith Reaves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wick throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Reaves is looking to counter punch. Wick lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Wick scores with a jab to the jaw. Reaves is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Wick tries to sprawl but Reaves drives through with a takedown into half guard. Wick makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wick throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Reaves's head. Wick tries to clinch but Reaves moves out of range. Wick thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Reaves if he has to take too many more of those.
Reaves moves out of range as Wick strikes. Reaves walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Reaves closes the distance and pushes Wick back into the cage. Wick misses with a knee to the head. Wick swings wildly with an uppercut but Reaves uses good head movement to avoid it. Reaves throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wick misses with an elbow over the top. Wick looking to slow down the pace here. Reaves tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wick just stands there and leans against the cage. Reaves misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wick has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Reaves tries to clinch up but Wick circles away and keeps his distance. Reaves drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reaves swings around for an armbar but Wick sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Reaves's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Reaves is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wick defends well. Wick trying to control but Reaves is working from the bottom. Wick throws an elbow that misses. Reaves uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wick's guard. Nice move by Reaves!
Reaves drops back looking for a leg! Wick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wick manages to kick Reaves off! Reaves jumps back into Wick's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wick keeping moving, preventing Reaves from controlling successfully. Reaves pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wick is keeping the position for now. Wick keeping moving, preventing Reaves from controlling successfully. Wick looking for a sweep. Not yet Wick, not yet. Reaves is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wick looking for a sweep. Not yet Wick, not yet. Reaves passes into half guard. Wick manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Reaves keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Wick gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Reaves is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Reaves is trying to keep Wick in close.
Reaves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wick gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wick trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Wick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Wick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
