Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Rock (ranked 387 p4p, 404 weight class) and Kagekatsu Uesugi (ranked 49 p4p, 53 weight class). Rock comes into the arena with I Wanna Rock blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 3, fighting out of New York, Will Rock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kagekatsu Uesugi!

Uesugi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rock counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Uesugi misses with a looping left.

I was talking to Rock's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rock can't keep his opponent in guard - Uesugi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

It looked like Rock wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Rock shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've been informed that Uesugi has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Uesugi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kagekatsu Uesugi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Rock drops his hands momentarily and Uesugi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Rock escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Uesugi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Uesugi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Uesugi stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Rock throws up his legs and catches Uesugi in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Uesugi tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Rock! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Will Rock!
Will Rock was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
