Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Krylov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Ferreria! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferreria bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Ferreria throws out a loose jab but Krylov uses good head movement to avoid it. Krylov appears to be looking for a big counter. Krylov takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
It looks like Boris Krylov has been cut. Ferreria uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Krylov. Ferreria connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Ferreria throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Krylov blocks a jab. Krylov was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ferreria with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ferreria looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Ferreria pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferreria walks into a jab. Ferreria misses with an uppercut
enabling Krylov to counter with a crisp jab. Ferreria throws a predictable looking body shot
and Krylov makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Ferreria throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Ferreria takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ferreria looks to score with a jab to the body but Krylov is just out of range. Ferreria with a jab. Krylov throws a hook but Ferreria avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferreria looks to land a right hand but Krylov moved out of range. Krylov jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Krylov staying out of range there. A little feinted left hand from Krylov on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Ferreria looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Ferreria connects with a body shot. Ferreria wants to slow Krylov down by chopping away at his legs. Ferreria misses with an uppercut
and Krylov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ferreria misses with a jab to the body
and Krylov counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Alex Ferreria has been cut. Ferreria throws a poor cross that misses
and Krylov counters with a left right combination that sends Ferreria crashing to the mat - Krylov wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Ferreria out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boris Krylov! Boris Krylov retains his heavyweight title! After the fight, Boris Krylov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
