Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pann Khumpai (ranked 2119 p4p, 2337 weight class) and Mason Rogers (ranked 223 p4p, 246 weight class). Pann Khumpai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Pann Khumpai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogers digs a good hook to Khumpai's body.
Khumpai tries to move into range but Rogers moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Rogers tries a head kick but it misses.
A bone on bone clash there as Khumpai blocks the leg kick.
Khumpai delivers a nice body kick.
Rogers lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khumpai circles away quickly and effectively.
Khumpai is looking to slow Rogers down with leg kicks.
Rogers lands with a cross.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown but Khumpai shows good takedown defense.

Khumpai tries to sprawl but Rogers drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Khumpai is looking to clinch.
Khumpai definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Khumpai pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rogers tries a low kick but Khumpai avoids it.

Rogers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Khumpai did well to prevent Rogers getting side control.

Khumpai is in a horrible position here. Rogers smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Rogers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Khumpai looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rogers cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Khumpai tries to throw a body punch but Rogers avoids it by throwing Khumpai back against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rogers jumps guard and drags Khumpai to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Rogers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khumpai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rogers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rogers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Khumpai manages to get himself to full guard.

Mason Rogers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Khumpai throws a right and a left that both miss.
Khumpai throws a push kick but Rogers slaps the foot to one side.

Rogers darts in and clinches Khumpai up against the cage.
Rogers jumps guard but Khumpai stands there with Rogers around his waist. Rogers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khumpai throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rogers in particular looking to stall.
Khumpai pushes Rogers off looking to stand but Rogers dives back in and keeps control.
Rogers lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rogers is controlling the pace.
Khumpai is not content to let Rogers control the position.
Rogers passes the guard and advances to mount!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rogers lands a couple of good shots and Khumpai has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Rogers is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Khumpai has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
What can Khumpai do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Khumpai is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rogers gets his way!

Well Rogers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
