Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Nielsen (ranked 2675 p4p, 2531 weight class) and Aleksander Balkan (ranked 286 p4p, 264 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Aleksander Balkan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Balkan takes a swing at Nielsen's ribcage but misses.

Balkan cracks a nice hook into Nielsen's ribs.

Balkan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Balkan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nielsen finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Balkan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Balkan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nielsen moves out of range as Balkan strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Balkan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Balkan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A nice leg kick lands there from Nielsen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Oooooh!!! Balkan has knocked Nielsen down with a huge combo! Balkan steps away and waves a wobbly Nielsen back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Balkan avoids the head kick by Nielsen.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Nielsen might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Nielsen throws a head kick but Balkan moves out of range.
and Balkan counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Nielsen! He's just covering up as Balkan starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
