Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Kurtz (ranked 3254 p4p, 4037 weight class) and Ivor Lucero (ranked 419 p4p, 496 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Kurtz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ivor Lucero! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurtz works Lucero's body with a nice hook. Kurtz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lucero. Kurtz tried to counter with a leg kick but Lucero avoided it. Kurtz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A quick step to the side and Kurtz tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Kurtz scores with a nice strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kurtz throws a sloppy head kick and Lucero moves out of range easily. Lucero misses with a takedown attempt and Kurtz counters with a slapping leg kick. Sebastian Kurtz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivor Lucero. Kurtz feints and then cracks Lucero's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lucero down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurtz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lucero counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kurtz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kurtz. Lucero is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lucero drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kurtz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kurtz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kurtz! Kurtz moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Lucero is looking for a sweep. Lucero told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kurtz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lucero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lucero stops Kurtz from passing to mount. Kurtz is trying to get an arm triangle but Lucero is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurtz tries to move into full mount but can't pass Lucero's legs. Kurtz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lucero has escaped the position, nice work there. Kurtz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lucero keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lucero is looking for a sweep. Kurtz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. You can see the frustration on Lucero's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lucero prevents Kurtz from improving position. Lucero manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kurtz's best efforts. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kurtz works his way into side control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lucero is not content to let Kurtz control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sebastian Kurtz dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! An inside leg kick lands from Kurtz. Lucero blocks a head kick by Kurtz.
Lucero tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Donk. Kurtz catches Lucero right on the button with a cross. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kurtz lands a head shot. Lucero manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kurtz on his heels. He'll look to pass Kurtz's guard now, I'm sure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurtz keeping moving, preventing Lucero from controlling successfully. Kurtz working a defensive guard here.
Lucero lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lucero throws a strike but Kurtz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lucero can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kurtz controls the pace. Kurtz tries to free his leg and advance position but Lucero is retaining full guard. Lucero has his foot on Kurtz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kurtz works his way back into a safe position though. Kurtz won't allow Lucero to sweep him here. Lucero keeps trying to improve his position. Kurtz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lucero can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lucero doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kurtz wants to control from the top but Lucero keeps moving. Lucero wants to sweep but no luck. Kurtz avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kurtz lands with an overhand left. A shot to the liver by Kurtz. Beautiful body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lucero blocks a head kick by Kurtz.

Kurtz throws a leg kick which misses Lucero's front leg but catches the back leg as Lucero tries to avoid it. Nice uppercut there from Kurtz. Kurtz connects with a looping right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lucero dives in for a single leg takedown but Kurtz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Sebastian Kurtz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivor Lucero. Kurtz slaps away a takedown attempt from Lucero, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kurtz swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Kurtz digs a good body shot into Lucero's ribs. Kurtz lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kurtz lands with an uppercut that bounces Lucero off the cage and back into range. Sebastian Kurtz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kurtz swings for the body but Lucero moves out of range.
Lucero is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kurtz with a body shot. Kurtz with the inside leg kick. Lucero takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kurtz connects with a jab. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Kurtz lands a nice shot to the body.
Kurtz throws a nice looking combination but Lucero bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kurtz throws a good cross that connects.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurtz throws a head kick but Lucero moves out of range.
And Lucero tries to counter it with a takedown but Kurtz pushes his down on his head and steps out. Lucero tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kurtz swivels and escapes. Sebastian Kurtz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kurtz works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Lucero dives in and grabs Kurtz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kurtz pushes down on Lucero's head and hops out. Lucero tries to move into range but Kurtz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kurtz lunges at Lucero with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lucero's hand.
Lucero is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lucero gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Kurtz gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
