Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Pearson (ranked 224 p4p, 215 weight class) and Felix Inarritu (ranked 33 p4p, 32 weight class). Inarritu has chosen Vulcano as his entrance music. Felix Inarritu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Pearson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Felix Inarritu! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Inarritu misses with a looping right. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pearson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Inarritu - the referee stops the clock and Pearson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Inarritu. Pearson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A shot to the body from Pearson misses and Inarritu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
It looks like James Pearson has been cut. Inarritu throws a wild body kick that Pearson sees coming a mile off. Pearson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Inarritu moves away. Pearson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Inarritu misses with a hook. Pearson is looking to counter punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pearson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Inarritu's head backwards. A looping hook to the body misses from Pearson. Inarritu does a little dance to reset his feet. Felix Inarritu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab, jab by Inarritu - just one landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Inarritu avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A punch lands to the side of Pearson 's head but he takes it in his stride. The fighters circle momentarily. Inarritu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Pearson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Inarritu. Pearson misses with an uppercut. Inarritu throws out a powerful jab.
James Pearson's cut is getting worse. Inarritu pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pearson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Pearson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pearson throws a lazy body kick and Inarritu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jab, jab by Inarritu - just one landing. Inarritu dodges the punch combination from Pearson.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Inarritu throws a jab but it's blocked by Pearson. Inarritu lands with a kick to the temple. Pearson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
James Pearson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Inarritu cracks Pearson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Inarritu has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Pearson to stand back up!
Pearson is rocked! Inarritu throws an overhand right that drops Pearson like a sack of potatoes! Inarritu dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Felix Inarritu! Our winner, Felix Inarritu, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
