Kapisi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kapisi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Spike loads up on a big right hand but Kapisi slips the punch.
Spike tries to land a front kick but Kapisi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kapisi tries to close the distance and clinch but Spike swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Spike shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Kapisi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Spike swats him away and circles back towards the center.

It looks like Sunray Spike has been cut.
Spike throws a front kick that sends Kapisi stumbling back into the cage.

and Spike counters with a good, hard body kick but Kapisi shrugs it off.
Spike takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Spike avoids the body shot from Kapisi.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kapisi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spike moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Spike drops his hands momentarily and Kapisi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Kapisi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kapisi swings wildly with an uppercut but Spike uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kapisi lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Kapisi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Spike breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Spike throws a head kick that misses.

Kapisi rushes Spike and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kapisi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Spike's efforts to push away.

Spike escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kapisi is looking to clinch.
We've been told by Spike's head coaches at Heavy Metal that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kapisi swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Spike lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kapisi tries to clinch there but Spike circles away.
It looked like Spike was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kapisi.
Kapisi misses with an uppercut. Spike saw that one coming.

Spike walks into a jab.
Spike misses with the combination.
Spike moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Spike lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kapisi throws a jab but it's blocked by Spike.
Spike uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kapisi needs to keep his hands up - Spike had a free shot at his head there.
Spike scores with a jab to the body.
Kapisi falls off balance throwing a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Spike catches Kapisi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Spike cracks Kapisi with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Spike has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kapisi to stand back up!

Kapisi is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Both fighters circling a little - Spike finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Kapisi is still on wobbly legs! Can Spike finish him?
Kapisi looks winded!
Spike fakes the body blow, causing Kapisi to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Kapisi goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sunray Spike!
In his post fight interview, Sunray Spike started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
