With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Bird!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.

Tropper displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bird throws out the jab.
Bird avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tropper misses with a shot to the body

and Bird counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tropper won't be happy with that.
Bird trying to control the action but Tropper is working from the bottom.
Tropper is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bird's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tropper is looking for a sweep. Bird is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bird is trying to control the action in half guard but Tropper is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bird is trying to work for a kimura but Tropper is defending well.

Bird is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tropper tries to get to full guard but Bird has control of the leg.

Bird seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Tropper is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jake Bird!
Jake Bird bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
