Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Might Lightning (ranked 1096 p4p, 1451 weight class) and Gaius Marius (ranked 159 p4p, 200 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Might Lightning!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gaius Marius!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.

Lightning fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marius manages to avoid it.
Marius fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Lightning is out of range.
Lightning defending well as Marius loads up on a big left hand.
Lightning slips a jab and a cross from Marius.
Lightning lands a nice looking body shot.
Nice shot lands for Lightning.
Lightning seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Lightning throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Marius looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Marius lands a jab.
Lightning misses with a lunging right hand
and Marius counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Might Lightning seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lightning drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lightning is looking to work some ground and pound but Marius has wrist control.
Marius keeping moving, preventing Lightning from controlling successfully.
Lightning throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lightning accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lightning trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marius utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lightning trying to control the position from guard on top but Marius is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marius is on top in guard.
Lightning has Marius pulled in close to control his posture.
Lightning tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lightning is trying to keep Marius in close.

Lightning is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lightning is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Marius controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lightning swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marius is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Lightning walks into a left hand.

Crunch! Marius slams his shin into Lightning's torso.
Lightning pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marius! But no joy.
Marius takes one to the chin there.
Marius fakes the leg kick and cracks Lightning in the body.
Lightning throws an off balance right hand
and Marius counters with a stiff right hand.
Lightning takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Lightning tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marius sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lightning somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lightning fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marius looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Marius throws a half hearted mid kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A swing and a miss from Lightning.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lightning looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marius has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Lightning keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Marius.
Marius throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lightning ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Marius ducks under a wild hook from Lightning.
Marius lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gaius Marius will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!
Marius takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Marius connects with the punch.
Lightning swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gaius Marius seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Marius lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Lightning throws a right hand that misses
and Marius counters with a nice right hand that sends Lightning toppling to the canvas! Lightning scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Marius finish him?!
Lightning is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marius lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Lightning - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Marius!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gaius Marius!
Gaius Marius is the new light heavyweight champion!
A very excited looking Gaius Marius rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
