Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hiroshi Ekaku (ranked 163 p4p, 261 weight class) and Enzo Salvatore (ranked 21 p4p, 32 weight class). Salvatore has chosen Reich mir die Hand as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hiroshi Ekaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Enzo Salvatore!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Ekaku
and Salvatore counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ekaku swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Salvatore moves out of range as Ekaku strikes.
It seemed like Salvatore was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
An inside leg kick lands from Ekaku.
Ekaku throws a jab but it's blocked by Salvatore.
A low kick from Ekaku misses
and Salvatore counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ekaku thinking.
Hiroshi Ekaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ekaku throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Salvatore.
Ekaku stuffs the takedown.
Ekaku looks to land a right hand but Salvatore moved out of range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Ekaku. Salvatore shrugs it off though.
Salvatore has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ekaku lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Salvatore circles away quickly and effectively.
Ekaku has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Convicted Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Salvatore takes a jab right on the kisser.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Salvatore decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ekaku tries to roll over but Salvatore keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Salvatore is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ekaku is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Salvatore is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ekaku has managed to free his arm - good work.
Salvatore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ekaku does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ekaku is controlling Salvatore's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Salvatore wants to pass to mount but Ekaku is defending the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Salvatore in particular looking to stall.
Salvatore is looking to advance position but Ekaku won't allow it.
Ekaku wants to get back to full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ekaku is trying to maintain the position but Salvatore is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Salvatore ducks under a wild hook from Ekaku.
Ekaku fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Salvatore looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ekaku throws an off balance right hand
and Salvatore counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ekaku throws a half hearted mid kick.
Salvatore swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Ekaku drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hiroshi Ekaku is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Salvatore.
Ekaku uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Salvatore has time to react.
Ekaku misses with a double jab
letting Salvatore counter with a right hand.
Nice defenses there by Salvatore.
Salvatore swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Ekaku misses with a hook.
Salvatore throws out a counter right but Ekaku avoids it with no problem.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ekaku misses with a body kick.
Salvatore with the counter takedown but Ekaku avoids it easily.
Salvatore moves out of range as Ekaku strikes.
Ekaku throws a half hearted mid kick.
Salvatore is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ekaku with a body shot.

Salvatore is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ekaku's half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Salvatore works his way into side control.
Salvatore trying to control the position but Ekaku is working away.
Ekaku is trying to control Salvatore's posture but Salvatore avoids it.
Ekaku gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hiroshi Ekaku will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Ekaku misses with a straight right.
A little jabbing left from Salvatore on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Salvatore scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ekaku scores with a kick to the body.
Ekaku throws a looping overhand right but Salvatore ducks down to avoid it.
It seemed like Salvatore was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Salvatore takes a jab right on the kisser.
Salvatore scores with a jab. Ekaku acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ekaku throws a jab when Salvatore was well out of range.
Ekaku jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Salvatore connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ekaku momentarily.

Ekaku feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Salvatore sprawling to the canvas! Salvatore rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ekaku finish him?!

Salvatore is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ekaku lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Salvatore up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Ekaku from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Salvatore's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hiroshi Ekaku!
Hiroshi Ekaku decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
