Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 123 p4p, 113 weight class) and Kvame Zulu (ranked 12 p4p, 11 weight class). Zulu is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big Badaboom. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kvame Zulu!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zulu uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kerr.
Kerr moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kvame Zulu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr missing with a left hand there. Zulu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kerr looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Zulu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zulu lands a high kick!

It looks like Mark Kerr has been cut.
Zulu swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kerr.
Zulu connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kerr. Kerr circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Zulu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Zulu misses with a double jab.
Kerr looks to land a combination but Zulu avoids it well.
Zulu goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Zulu lands with an uppercut that bounces Kerr off the cage and back into range.
Zulu misses with a kick to the body
and Kerr counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Kvame Zulu has been cut.
Zulu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've been informed that Zulu has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Zulu feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kerr sprawling to the canvas! Kerr rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Zulu finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kerr misses with a lunging right hand
and Zulu counters with a low kick, right behind Kerr 's knee.
Kerr moves out of range as Zulu strikes.
Zulu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Kerr throws a lazy uppercut
and Zulu counters with a stiff right hand.
A shot to the liver by Kerr. Beautiful body shot.
Zulu is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Zulu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kerr on the side of the head.
Zulu connects with a body shot that sends Kerr's belly button to the back.

Zulu sizes up Kerr with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Zulu throws a head kick but Kerr moves out of range.
Kerr appears to be looking for a big counter.
Kerr goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kerr throws a body punch but Zulu moves out of range.
Kerr lands with an overhand left.
Zulu lands with a shot to the body.

A counter left hand to the body from Kerr misses its target.
Zulu scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kerr doesn't seem bothered though.
Zulu cracks Kerr with a right hand to the side of the head.
Kerr moves away from the strike by Zulu.
Zulu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kerr went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Zulu misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kerr counters with a nice body shot.
Zulu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zulu scores with a shot to the body.
Zulu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zulu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kerr was well out of range. Poor timing from Zulu.
Kerr wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Zulu swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kerr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kerr scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

That has opened up Kvame Zulu's cut even more.
Kerr missing with a left hand there. Zulu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Zulu throws a fast counter high kick but Kerr manages to duck under it in time.
Zulu dodges the punch combination from Kerr.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zulu scores with a shot to the body.
Zulu is looking to slow Kerr down with leg kicks.
Sloppy strikes from Kerr. Those never looked like landing.
Kerr ducks under a wild hook from Zulu.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kerr looks to land a left hand but Zulu moved out of range nicely.
Zulu scores with a hook to the body. Kerr takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Kvame Zulu dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kerr misses with an uppercut. Zulu saw that one coming.
Kerr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Zulu.
Zulu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zulu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kerr clinches up against the cage.

Kerr manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kerr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Zulu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kerr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kerr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zulu manages to get himself to full guard.

Kerr tries to free his leg and advance position but Zulu is retaining full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Kerr bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Good work by Kerr as he checks the leg kick.
Kerr walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Zulu lands with a nice body punch.
Zulu lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kerr moves out of range as Zulu strikes.
It looked like Kerr wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Zulu lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Zulu lands with an uppercut that bounces Kerr off the cage and back into range.
Zulu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kerr manages to avoid it.
Kerr has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Zulu.

That's time! Kerr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Zulu looks for the body kick but Kerr saw that one coming.
Kerr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

A little feinted left hand from Kerr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

As Kerr backs off Zulu throws a huge counter combo but Kerr manages to avoid it all.

Zulu gets tackled into the cage by Kerr. Kerr maintains the clinch.
Kerr has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zulu avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mark Kerr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kvame Zulu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kerr throws a punch but it's blocked by Zulu.
Zulu blocks an uppercut.
Kerr misses with some punches.
Zulu lands a nice uppercut.

Kerr lands a left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zulu struggles to land a body shot inside as Kerr controls his hands.
Kerr has a couple of punches blocked by Zulu.

Zulu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zulu looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Kerr is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Zulu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kerr throwing a counter right hand but Zulu manages to avoid it.

Kerr misses with a looping left.
Zulu only half commits to the counter leg kick.
A combination from Kerr does no damage.

Kerr tries to work over Zulu's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Zulu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kerr tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Kerr lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kerr misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kerr throws a head punch that misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kerr.

A nice right hand lands inside from Kerr.
Kerr misses with a punch on the inside.
Kerr jumps guard but Zulu stands there with Kerr around his waist. Kerr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mark Kerr showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Zulu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
