Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aaron McGinnis (ranked 1623 p4p, 1424 weight class) and Lester Burnham (ranked 186 p4p, 170 weight class). McGinnis comes to the cage accompanied by Star.One - Original Badman Feat. Takura & Assassin. Burnham is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: All Star Chuck Taylors. Aaron McGinnis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lester Burnham's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron McGinnis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lester Burnham!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Richard Clark.

Burnham closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Burnham tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Burnham has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Burnham is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McGinnis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
McGinnis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burnham wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Burnham with the ground and pound but McGinnis regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Burnham wants to pass the guard but McGinnis is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burnham is still trying to improve position.
McGinnis is trying to get back to full guard.

McGinnis wants to control but Burnham is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Burnham is working for a kimura but McGinnis is defending it quite comfortably.

McGinnis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Burnham wants to control from the top but McGinnis keeps moving.

McGinnis seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Burnham sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Burnham shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGinnis pinned against the cage. McGinnis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Burnham shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McGinnis is trying to defend but Burnham finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Burnham seems to be working for a kimura but McGinnis defends the submission attempt.

Burnham looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
McGinnis gets back to full guard.

Burnham postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lester Burnham dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Burnham darts in looking for a takedown but McGinnis gets double underhooks and turns Burnham into the cage.
McGinnis slaps away a takedown attempt from Burnham, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Burnham fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGinnis avoids it really well and circles away.
Aaron McGinnis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lester Burnham.
Burnham doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Lester Burnham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGinnis misses with a body shot.
Burnham keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Burnham with the counter takedown but McGinnis avoids it easily.
McGinnis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Burnham. That did some damage!
McGinnis throws a wild body kick that Burnham sees coming a mile off.

and McGinnis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McGinnis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Burnham looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Burnham shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McGinnis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burnham drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McGinnis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Burnham has McGinnis in his guard.


Burnham is looking for a triangle but McGinnis pushes his legs off easily.
McGinnis won't allow Burnham to sweep him here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McGinnis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

McGinnis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

McGinnis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGinnis is sitting in close to Burnham's body. Burnham has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! McGinnis is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, McGinnis is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Burnham.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lester Burnham!
