PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Kras (ranked 2492 p4p, 2972 weight class) and Tylonal Jones (ranked 285 p4p, 331 weight class). Jones has chosen Rubber band man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Kras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tylonal Jones!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.

Kras throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Kras finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jones manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Kras is trying to push Jones away but Jones has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Jones drags the fight down to the ground.
Kras won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kras is controlling him.
Kras trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jones wants to stand up but Kras is controlling him.
Kras connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kras working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones controls Kras momentarily but Kras frees himself.

Jones pulls Kras in close to his closed guard and prevents Kras from doing any damage or advancing position.

Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Kras pushes his legs off easily.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Let's hope that Jones has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kras throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kras working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kras controls the pace.
Kras has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kras with a nice head shot there.
Jones wants to sweep here but Kras controlling him for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

Jones is looking to advance position but Kras has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Kras with shots to the head and body - Jones looks very uncomfortable down there.
Kras lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Kras avoids the attempt from Jones to control.
Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Jones postures up in Kras's guard and throws a big left but Kras blocks it.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones wanted to stand there but Kras had control of the position.
Kras wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kras pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Kras will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kras shoots and misses
and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Kras backing up. Kras nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.
Don Kras is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kras is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Jones Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Kras is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tylonal Jones!
