Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Randleman (ranked 368 p4p, 1179 weight class) and Alex Silva (ranked 58 p4p, 161 weight class). Randleman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bloodhound Gang - Bad Touch. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Randleman! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Silva! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.

Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silva fails with the takedown and Randleman counters with a nice uppercut. Silva misses with a takedown and Randleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Randy Randleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva. Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Randleman is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Randleman circles away and we're back to standing. Nice sprawl there from Randleman as Silva shoots in. Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Randleman half committed to a counter leg kick. Silva slips under a jab from Randleman. Randleman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Randleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Silva looks winded! Randleman is looking to slow Silva down with leg kicks. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva shoots in for a takedown but Randleman shows good takedown defense. Randleman appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Randleman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Randleman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking. Randleman lands with a thumping leg kick.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Randleman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Randleman lands a big uppercut and Silva crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Silva looks OK. Randleman waves Silva back to his feet!

It looks like Alex Silva has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silva has his takedown stuffed and Randleman makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Randleman finish him? Silva walks forward, straight into a front kick from Randleman. Silva seems to have recovered his senses. Randleman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Silva. That did some damage! Silva on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Randleman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Randleman lands a brutal uppercut that launches Silva off his feet! Silva tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Randy Randleman! Randy Randleman retains his light heavyweight title! A less than humble Randy Randleman misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
