Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Papa Legba (ranked 333 p4p, 1128 weight class) and Shane Stead (ranked 47 p4p, 152 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papa Legba!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Stead!

Legba shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stead manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Legba avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Legba sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stead's guard.

Stead has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Legba has control of Stead's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Stead regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Stead is trying to escape the mount.
Stead is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Legba tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Legba has hold of Stead's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Stead manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Legba working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stead doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stead manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Legba is on top in guard.

Stead throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Legba seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Stead missing with a left hand there. Legba was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Stead misses the shot to the body.
Legba shoots for a double leg takedown but Stead sprawls well. He's pushed Legba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stead really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Legba. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Legba has been working on his balance at Blake Phoenix Champion Factory, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Stead.
Legba shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stead sprawls well. Stead wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Legba gets slowly back to his feet.

That was a close round but Papa Legba did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

Stead has left one of his arms exposed and Legba doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Stead screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
