PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gil Jacobson (ranked 600 p4p, 561 weight class) and Herbert Mullin (ranked 74 p4p, 69 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Herbert Mullin was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gil Jacobson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Herbert Mullin!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.

Mullin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mullin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mullin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jacobson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Let's hope that Mullin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Herbert Mullin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Mullin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
