Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brutus Leagatius (ranked 1030 p4p, 1620 weight class) and Paul Starker (ranked 125 p4p, 180 weight class). Starker has chosen Catrin O'Neill - Ar Lan Y Mor as his entrance music. Paul Starker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brutus Leagatius! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 27 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Starker! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leagatius swats away the attempt to clinch by Starker. Starker tries to clinch but fails miserably and Leagatius connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Leagatius tests Starker's chin there with a solid looking shot. Starker moves into the clinch successfully.
Leagatius blocks an elbow strike from Starker.
Our sources have told us that Leagatius has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Starker lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Brutus Leagatius has been cut. Starker misses with an elbow over the top. Starker misses with a knee strike.
Starker lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Leagatius holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Starker blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Leagatius lands a left hand that snaps the head of Starker backwards. Leagatius is pushing Starker up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Starker lands an elbow that stopped Leagatius in his tracks for a moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Leagatius stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leagatius stalling the fight.
Leagatius gets a warning from the ref for wasting time. Starker looks to throw an elbow but misses. Starker with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Leagatius softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Leagatius swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Starker throws an elbow but it's blocked.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Starker. Leagatius tries to throw a body punch but Starker avoids it by throwing Leagatius back against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. A nice left hand lands by Leagatius.

Leagatius lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Leagatius lands with a left to the head. Leagatius is pushing Starker up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. A shot in the inside from Leagatius. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Starker just misses with a elbow thrown towards Leagatius's brow. Starker gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Leagatius is struggling to control the position. Starker misses with a punch on the inside.
A bit of stalling here from Leagatius.
Leagatius gets through Starker's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Starker scores with a shoulder strike. Leagatius blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Leagatius escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Leagatius throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Starker on the side of the head. Starker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Starker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Leagatius makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Starker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A little feinted left hand from Leagatius on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Starker wants to clinch and Leagatius counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Starker thinking. A low kick from Starker is predictable there and Leagatius counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Starker looks winded! Starker throws a right hand that Leagatius ducks under and follows up with a left that Leagatius also avoids with ease.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leagatius lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Starker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Starker misses with a low kick. Starker tries to clinch but Leagatius moves away and Leagatius counters with a big right hand! Oh Starker is in trouble here! Leagatius follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brutus Leagatius! Brutus Leagatius spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. Paul Starker was interviewed post fight and said 'I`LL BE BACK@#$%!'.
