Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaquan Woods (ranked 588 p4p, 604 weight class) and Lucien Lachance (ranked 88 p4p, 91 weight class). Woods comes into the arena with LUNIZ -- I GOT 5 ON IT blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Lachance's choice of entrance music: Scarecrow. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucien Lachance!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods thows a body kick. Lachance tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Woods blocks a jab.
Woods connects with a body shot.
Woods misses with the body kick
and Lachance counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lachance throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lachance rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Woods connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Woods comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Lachance closes the distance and clinches.
Woods lands a shoulder strike.
Lachance keeps control of Woods as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Woods jumps into guard, dragging Lachance to the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lachance stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woods swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Woods wants to stand but Lachance is controlling the position.
Woods looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Woods is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Woods seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Lachance won't allow Woods to get back to his feet.
Lachance preventing the sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Woods takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Woods misses the body punch
and Lachance counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Shaquan Woods has been cut.
Woods fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lachance looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Woods throws a sloppy head kick and Lachance moves out of range easily.
Lachance looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Lachance closes the distance and clinches.
A body shot lands from Woods.
Lachance lands an uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Lachance.

Woods gets control of Lachance's arms and successfully pulls guard. Woods will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lachance got a little sloppy there for a moment and Woods has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lachance has managed to get both his arms back between Woods's legs - danger averted.
Lachance tries to free his leg and advance position but Woods is retaining full guard.

Lachance drops back, looking for a kneebar! Woods looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Woods looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Woods!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Woods working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Woods trying to control the position but Lachance is working away.
Lachance is looking to regain half guard here but Woods keeps moving and retains side control.
Lachance is trying to control Woods's posture but Woods avoids it.
Lachance is looking to reverse the position.

Woods is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lachance is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lachance manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Woods looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Woods wants to stand up but Lachance manages to regain full guard.
Woods advances position into side control!
Woods controls the position from side control.

Woods tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Woods's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Woods ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lachance moves away.
It seemed like Lachance was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Woods lands with a kick to the ribs.
Lachance takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Woods throws a head kick but Lachance moves out of range.
Woods throws a hook to the side of Lachance's head but Lachance sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lachance takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Woods with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Woods connects with the punch.
Lachance throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A shot to the liver by Woods. Beautiful body shot.
Lachance misses with a wild combination.
Woods throwing a counter right hand but Lachance manages to avoid it.
Lachance with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Woods lands with a slapping head kick.
Lachance steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Woods.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lachance! But no joy.
Woods throws a predictable looking body shot
and Lachance counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Woods stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Woods scores with a nice right hand.
Lachance slips a jab from Woods.
A nice leg kick from Woods, right into the meat of the thigh.
Woods looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Lachance looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Woods throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lachance's head.

Lachance takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A slapping leg kick lands for Woods.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Good exchange - Woods coming out on top.
Woods swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Woods misses with a hook
and Lachance counters with a straight right hand.

Lachance drops Woods with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Woods looks back up at him and smiles so Lachance waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Woods swings widly with a right hand
and Lachance counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
