Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Red Crow (ranked 1729 p4p, 3454 weight class) and Sergio Vargas (ranked 247 p4p, 429 weight class). Vargas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. a warrior's call kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Red Crow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergio Vargas! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vargas scores with a jab. Crow acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Vargas wants to clinch. Crow half committed to a counter leg kick. A momentary lapse in concentration from Vargas enables Crow to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vargas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Crow throwing strikes from guard but Vargas blocks nicely. Vargas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vargas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Vargas wants to stand up but Crow is controlling him. Vargas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crow missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vargas can do anything to dispel that myth. Crow is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Crow has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Vargas keeping moving, preventing Crow from controlling successfully. Vargas has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Gunner's School of Combat. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vargas is trying to control the position but Crow postures up. Crow is working Vargas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Vargas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Crow working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Crow in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vargas wants to stand up but Crow is controlling him. Crow is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Crow prevents Vargas from getting back to his feet. Crow scoring with punches to the head and body. Vargas lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Vargas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vargas throws a push kick but Crow slaps the foot to one side. Vargas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Crow momentarily.
Crow lands a nice looking body kick. Crow looks to score with a jab to the body but Vargas is just out of range. Crow throws the left hand but Vargas avoids the punch easily. Vargas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Crow tries to score a body lock takedown but Vargas shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Crow tries to throw a body punch but Vargas avoids it by throwing Crow back against the cage. A left hand lands to the body for Crow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vargas lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Crow lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vargas backwards. Crow tries to throw a body punch but Vargas avoids it by throwing Crow back against the cage. Vargas misses with a body punch.

Vargas blocks a body shot from Crow. Crow wants a takedown but no success here.

Crow tries to work over Vargas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Crow misses with a hook to the ribs.
Crow lands with a right to the head. Crow misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Vargas manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vargas throws a shot from downtown. Crow moves away and avoids it. A quick step to the side and Crow tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Vargas takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crow with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Crow. Crow landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Vargas is rocked! Crow is chipping away with strikes.
Vargas is still in real trouble! Can Crow finish him? Crow works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Crow in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Vargas looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Crow turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Red Crow! Red Crow very nearly forgot to thank Conviction amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
