With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ugo Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barnes pushes Morales up against the cage in a clinch.

A short body shot lands from Morales as the two fighters clinch.
Morales tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Barnes takes a shot to the head.
Morales lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Morales lands a nice uppercut.
Morales swings wildly with an uppercut but Barnes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Morales throws a punch but it's blocked by Barnes.
Morales prevents a body shot from Barnes.
Morales lands with a right to the head.
Barnes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Morales is keeping busy.
I was talking to Morales's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Morales lands a left hand that snaps the head of Barnes backwards.

It looks like Ugo Barnes has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morales on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Morales creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Barnes's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Barnes drops to his knees and Morales pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Morales!
A relieved looking Ricardo Morales thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
