Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mikko Alatalo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Norman Pearson! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alatalo lands with a thumping leg kick.
Alatalo feints and then cracks Pearson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pearson down. Pearson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alatalo finds it's way round the side to connect with Pearson's head. Pearson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Alatalo.
Alatalo's corner calls for a 1-2. Alatalo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Alatalo misses with a body shot.
Pearson misses with an uppercut. Alatalo saw that one coming. We've been told by Alatalo's head coaches at Mello MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Alatalo misses with a leg kick. Pearson avoids the body shot from Alatalo.

Mikko Alatalo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A bone on bone clash there as Pearson blocks the leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pearson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Alatalo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Pearson throws a counter combo. Alatalo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Alatalo throws the left hand but Pearson avoids the punch easily. Alatalo throws a predictable looking body shot
and Pearson counters with a nice leg kick. Alatalo lands a jab to the head.

We've been informed that Pearson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alatalo misses with the head strike.
Alatalo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pearson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

and Alatalo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Pearson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pearson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alatalo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pearson. Well, if Pearson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Pearson is looking for the big counter here. Alatalo misses with a shot to the body and Pearson counters with a good low kick that Alatalo was not able to check. Alatalo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pearsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Pearson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

A looping hook to the body misses from Alatalo. Pearson does a little dance to reset his feet. Pearson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Alatalo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Norman Pearson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alatalo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Alatalo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Alatalo thows a leg kick but Pearson checks it and Pearson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pearson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Alatalo throws a lazy body kick and Pearson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Alatalo throws a leg kick but Pearson moved away. Pearson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Alatalo misses with a straight left. Alatalo backing away here, and Pearson unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Alatalo thows a left - swing and a miss! Pearson gets a takedown into half guard. Alatalo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pearson can do to turn this around? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Pearson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Alatalo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pearson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alatalo avoids it really well and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Alatalo throws a sloppy head kick and Pearson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Alatalo punishes Pearson's body with a nice straight punch. Alatalo throws the left hand but Pearson avoids the punch easily. Pearson defending well as Alatalo loads up on a big left hand. An inside leg kick lands from Pearson. Pearson jabs Alatalo right on the nose. Alatalo blinks but takes it well. Pearson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Alatalo backs up against the cage.
Pearson checks the leg kick. Pearson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alatalo. Pearson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Alatalo back to the cage. Pearson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Alatalo misses with a low kick as Pearson jumps back. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Pearson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Pearson connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Alatalo! He's out on his feet! Pearson rushes in and drops Alatalo with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
