Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Pawlik (ranked 398 p4p, 671 weight class) and Lazuran Riku (ranked 48 p4p, 78 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dick Pawlik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 13 - 2, fighting out of New York, Lazuran Riku!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pawlik bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pawlik drops down looking for a counter takedown but Riku sprawls and moves away.
Riku misses with a hook to the body
and Pawlik decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Riku's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Pawlik is stalling here. Riku is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pawlik seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Riku has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Riku lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Pawlik shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Riku manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
