Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jacques Durand (ranked 17627 p4p, 4468 weight class) and Riley Knox (ranked 695 p4p, 541 weight class). Durand comes to the ring accompanied by Kaaris - S.E.V.R.A.N.. Knox is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Roy Jones Jr - I Smoke, I Drink feat. Mr. Magic & Youngbloodz). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Riley Knox!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox misses with a straight left.
Durand displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knox throws out the jab.
Durand has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Marty Robbin's Fight Ranch in the buildup to the fight.
Durand scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Durand scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Knox misses with a hook
and Durand counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Durand lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Nice uppercut lands for Durand. That snapped Knox's head back.
Knox avoids the body shot from Durand.
Knox blocks a low kick nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Knox! But no joy.
Knox throws a poor cross that misses
and Durand counters with a straight right hand.
Knox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Durand was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Knox tries to clinch up
and Durand cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Durand explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Knox is looking to clinch but Durand is avoiding it.
Durand was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Knox fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Durand wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jacques Durand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Durand delivers a nice body kick.
Durand takes a swing at Knox's ribcage but misses.
Durand throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Knox's head.
It looks like Riley Knox has been cut.
Durand throws a push kick but Knox slaps the foot to one side.

Durand lands with a hook. Knox tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Knox tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Durand manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Knox counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Knox cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Durand clinches up with Knox and pushes him back against the ropes.

Knox lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Knox lands a hook that snaps the head of Durand backwards.
Knox lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Durand or not.
Knox avoids a wild elbow strike from Durand.
Durand looks to throw an elbow but misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Durand presses Knox against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Durand blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Knox misses with some punches.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Knox lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Durand backwards.

Durand blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Still in the clinch, Durand scores with a nice short uppercut.
Durand lands a damaging elbow.
Durand is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Knox is defending well for now.
Durand is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Durand breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Durand scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Knox takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Knox steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Durand. That one must have hurt.
Durand turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Durand is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Knox can do to turn this around?

Knox needs to keep his hands up - Durand had a free shot at his head there.
Knox throws a shot from downtown. Durand moves away and avoids it.
Durand goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Durand misses with a series of wild punches.
Knox is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Knox takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Knox throws a shot from downtown. Durand moves away and avoids it.
Knox throws a low kick, looking for Durand's leg but Durand calmly moves out of range.
Knox fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Durand is looking to counter punch.
Durand lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Durand is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Durand lands a really nice looking cross but Knox seems unphased.
Durand lands a head shot.
Knox tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Durand was well out of range. Poor timing from Knox.
Knox sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Durand counters with a straight right hand.
Durand throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Knox is rocked!
Durand moves into the clinch.
Knox is still on wobbly legs! Can Durand finish him?
Durand utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Durand cracks Knox on the bridge of the nose with a nasty looking elbow! Knox crumples to the floor in pain, holding his face! It doesn't look like he's going to beat the count - he's out of it! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Jacques Durand thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
