Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Corcoran (ranked 1165 p4p, 2760 weight class) and Walter Payton (ranked 158 p4p, 352 weight class). Payton has chosen Andre Nickatina - Yeah as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corcoran waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Payton.
Payton pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

It looks like Walter Payton has been cut.
Payton looks to land a left hand but Corcoran moved out of range nicely.

Corcoran does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Corcoran uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Payton.
Payton throws a body punch but Corcoran moves out of range.

Payton throws a looping overhand right but Corcoran ducks down to avoid it.
Payton might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

We've been informed that Payton has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Payton swings for the body but Corcoran moves out of range.

Payton throws the left hand but Corcoran avoids the punch easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Payton, as that shot connected.

Vinny Corcoran's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Corcoran changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Payton tries to avoid it but Corcoran manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Payton to the ground. Payton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Corcoran lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Payton loads up on a big right hand but Corcoran slips the punch.
Corcoran doesn't manage to clinch there - Payton circles away.

Jeez, Vinny Corcoran's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
