Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Viden (ranked 2541 p4p, 2698 weight class) and Chris Harms (ranked 334 p4p, 349 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Viden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Harms! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Viden throws a sloppy head kick and Harms moves out of range easily. Harms gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Viden blocks a body shot from Harms. Harms gets a trip takedown into half guard. Harms wants to take a breather but Viden is having none of it. My spies in ACME inform me that Harms has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Harms is trying to work for a kimura but Viden is defending well.
Harms is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Viden wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harms is trying to control. Viden wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Harms is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Viden is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Viden won't allow Harms to pass to mount. Harms trying to control from half guard but Viden is working away. Harms is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Viden sees it coming and defends easily. Harms with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Viden definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Harms is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Viden is just riding it out for now. Harms eventually gives up the hold. Harms is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Viden! Harms with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harms takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Harms looking for a guillotine from mount but Viden is having none of it. Viden defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Harms. Harms is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Viden can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Harms looking to control and managing it successfully. Harms is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Viden has managed to escape the submission attempt.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harms working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Viden wants it to stay on the feet. Viden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Harms napping and manages to drive through into side control! Harms manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Harms is trying to control. Viden wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Viden wants to control but Harms is keeping busy and won't allow it. Harms wants to lay and pray for a moment but Viden keeps working. Viden is looking for a sweep. Harms is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harms takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Viden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harms on the ground. Viden is trying to maintain the position but Harms is very close to passing his half guard. Viden has his hands clasped together around Harms's back. He's all about the action. Harms works his foot free and advances to mount. Viden is squirming around, avoiding Harms's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Viden tries to hold on but Harms postures up. Harms can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Viden is looking to escape. Harms lands with some strikes. Harms controlling the position easily from mount. Harms has control of Viden's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Viden regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Viden is looking to improve his position but Harms isn't that keen on the idea. Harms has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Harms can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Viden is looking to escape. Harms looking to finish with strikes here!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Harms breaks from Viden's wrist control and lands an elbow. Harms throwing strikes here but Viden is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
