Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kagekatsu Uesugi (ranked 146 p4p, 159 weight class) and Edson Bidon Barbosa (ranked 19 p4p, 20 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kagekatsu Uesugi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edson Bidon Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa connects with a nice looking jab.
Uesugi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Uesugi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Uesugi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barbosa.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Barbosa might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Uesugi has got the better of the exchanges.

Uesugi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barbosa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Uesugi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Uesugi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Uesugi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Barbosa is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
