Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Wesley Taurus (ranked 1103 p4p, 23139 weight class) and Kyle Kovingten (ranked 155 p4p, 667 weight class). Taurus comes to the ring accompanied by Country Boy - Aaron Lewis. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wesley Taurus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Kovingten!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taurus throws an overhand right that lands on Kovingten's shoulder, as Kovingten tries to avoid the shot.
Kovingten swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Taurus counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kovingten's knee momentarily.
Taurus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kovingten.
Taurus staying out of range there.
Kovingten misses with an uppercut
and Taurus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Taurus scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
A big right from Taurus misses.
Kovingten scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kovingten throws a front kick that sends Taurus stumbling back into the ropes.
Taurus stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kovingten.
Kovingten has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
The fighters circling - Taurus throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kovingten lands a nice looking body shot.
A nice leg kick from Kovingten, right into the meat of the thigh.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kovingten uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Taurus drops his hands momentarily and Kovingten takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Taurus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kovingten moves away.

Kovingten moves into range and clinches up with Taurus.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kovingten pushes Taurus back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kovingten misses with a hook from the clinch.
A short uppercut from Kovingten.
Taurus tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kovingten misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Kovingten takes a shot to the head.
Kovingten controlling the action here for a moment.
Kovingten has a couple of punches blocked by Taurus.
Taurus blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kovingten lands a shot to the body.
Kovingten is looking to control Taurus's arms but Taurus gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kovingten has his back to the ropes.
Kovingten blocks a body shot from Taurus.
Kovingten tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A nice left hand lands by Kovingten.
Taurus wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Taurus misses with some punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kovingten tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Taurus's elbow.
Taurus is trying to break free.
Kovingten pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Kovingten misses with an elbow over the top.
Kovingten lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Taurus throws an elbow that misses.
Kovingten tries to land knees in the clinch but Taurus avoids the damage to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kovingten breaks the clinch.
Kovingten throws a jab when Taurus was well out of range.
Taurus has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Taurus there as he acknowledges the shot.
Taurus takes one on the button.
Kovingten on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Taurus. Taurus obviously looking to wear him down.
Taurus gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kovingten pivots, looking for a leg kick but Taurus is out of range and Kovingten settles back down.
Taurus blocks the body kick.
Kovingten lands a right hook to the body.
Both fighters circling a little - Kovingten finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Kovingten dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Boom! Kovingten lands a massive head kick that sends Taurus crashing into the ropes, followed by a classic face plant on the canvas! He's up to his knees but he's not going to beat the count - this one is all over! Kovingten is jumping around like a lunatic, extatic with the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Kyle Kovingten!
A very excited looking Kyle Kovingten rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
