Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ace Leon (ranked 3702 p4p, 1275 weight class) and Gaius Marius (ranked 455 p4p, 173 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gaius Marius!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marius lands with a right hand.
Leon takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Leon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marius sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A lazy left from Marius finds it's target.
Leon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marius manages to avoid it.

Leon moves into range and clinches up with Marius.
Leon tries to pull guard but Marius won't allow it.

Leon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Marius prevents Leon from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marius decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Marius's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Marius has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Marius lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Leon forces Marius back against the cage and clinches.

Marius breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Leon walks into a jab.

Leon moves into range and clinches up with Marius.
Leon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Marius just stands there and leans against the cage.

Marius lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Leon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Marius walks away with a smile on his face. Leon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Marius comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Marius lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Leon is trying to pull guard but Marius turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Leon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Marius smiles and moves away.

Leon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Leon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Leon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Marius fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Leon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Marius connects with a body shot that sends Leon's belly button to the back.

Marius rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Leon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Marius tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Leon is in Marius's guard.

Both fighters circling a little - Marius finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Leon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Marius turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Leon is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Marius feints and then cracks Leon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Leon down.
