PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrano Jackson (ranked 732 p4p, 1525 weight class) and Eddie Miller (ranked 20 p4p, 62 weight class). Miller has chosen Not Falling as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyrano Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Eddie Miller!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller keeps the fight on the outside.
Jackson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Eddie Miller has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Miller has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Miller. Jackson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jackson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Miller manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

I was talking to Jackson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Miller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Miller is not content to let Jackson control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Miller is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jackson off and has taken his back!

Miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Miller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miller somewhat.

Jackson tightens his grip and picks Miller up, before dumping him to the ground. Miller manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Miller defends it well.

Jackson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Miller shows good takedown defense.
Miller throws out a counter right but Jackson avoids it with no problem.
Jackson tries to clinch there but Miller circles away.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Miller sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Miller drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jackson defends it well.
Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Miller. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A decent looking cross lands there for Miller.
Miller connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Miller misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

And that's the end of the fight!
Eddie Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Miller has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
