Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elliot Rockwell (ranked 315 p4p, 447 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 43 p4p, 57 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elliot Rockwell ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 39 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junkyard Dog! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockwell misses with an uppercut. A head kick misses from Dog. Dog getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Dog lands a glancing blow to the side of Rockwell 's head. Rockwell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dog. A nice side step and Dog releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Rockwell moves away from the strike by Dog. It looked like Rockwell wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Dog lunges at Rockwell with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rockwell 's hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Rockwell . Dog does a little dance to reset his feet. Junkyard Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dog rushes Rockwell and presses him up against the cage. Dog pulls guard effortlessly. Rockwell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rockwell works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dog is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Dog keeps trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dog works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dog trying to keep a closed guard but Rockwell is proving a slippery customer.
Dog looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rockwell passes into half guard.
Rockwell prevents Dog from improving his position. Rockwell controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog wants to improve his position but Rockwell is controlling well.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rockwell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dog knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dog has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rockwell is working away from the top position though.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Dog throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Rockwell walks into a stiff left hand from Dog. Dog looks to land a right hand but Rockwell moved out of range. Rockwell is looking to counter punch. Dog looks to throw a body kick and Rockwell counters with a big head kick but Dog shrugs it off. We've been informed that Dog has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog rushes Rockwell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Dog drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dog keeps control of Rockwell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Dog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rockwell throws a right hand that misses
and Dog makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Dog misses with a left hand and Rockwell counters with a straight right hand. We've been told by Rockwell 's head coaches at Crassus that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dog uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rockwell . Rockwell misses with a head kick.
Dog misses with a hook. Rockwell ducked under it nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dog connects with a single shot there. A combination from Rockwell does no damage. Dog looks to land a right hand but Rockwell moved out of range. Dog on the wrong end of a nice jab. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Junkyard Dog dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Rockwell scores with a sloppy right hand. Dog should have avoided that one. Dog misses the jab. Rockwell was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Dog walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Rockwell throws a looping overhand right but Dog ducks down to avoid it. Dog misses with a body shot.
Dog cracks a nice hook into Rockwell 's ribs. Rockwell swats away the attempt to clinch by Dog. A clash of legs there as Rockwell blocks the low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dog tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rockwell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rockwell throws a low kick but Dog moves out of range easily. A cross from Rockwell lands. Nice defenses there by Rockwell . A slapping leg kick lands for Dog.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good work by Rockwell as he checks the leg kick. Rockwell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dog.
Rockwell misses with an uppercut. Dog saw that one coming. Dog blocks a jab. Rockwell checks the leg kick. Rockwell tries to land a front kick but Dog steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Dog looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Dog connects with a single shot there. Dog shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rockwell as he avoids it easily. Dog misses with a body shot
and Rockwell counters with a nice uppercut. Rockwell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dog scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Rockwell lands a lovely overhand right.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog cracks Rockwell with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dog lands a head shot. Rockwell staying out of range there. Rockwell blocks a jab. Rockwell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Jab, jab by Dog - just one landing. Rockwell throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Dog lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Dog clinches up against the cage. Rockwell working hard to break the clinch. Rockwell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rockwell with a jab. Rockwell misses with a body kick. A little jabbing left from Dog on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Dog lands an overhand right.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Dog misses its intended target. Rockwell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dog slips a straight right by Rockwell . A bone on bone clash there as Rockwell blocks the leg kick.
Elliot Rockwell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A leg kick checked by Dog. Dog throws out a loose jab but Rockwell uses good head movement to avoid it. Rockwell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dog manages to avoid it. Rockwell on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Dog. Dog obviously looking to wear him down.
Rockwell doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Dog bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rockwell 's head backwards. Rockwell needs to keep his hands up - Dog had a free shot at his head there. Dog throws a looping overhand right but Rockwell ducks down to avoid it. Dog lands a jab to Rockwell 's midsection.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog throws a lazy head kick and Rockwell makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Rockwell slips under a jab. Rockwell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dog forces Rockwell back against the cage and clinches. Rockwell avoiding damage.
Dog misses with a hook from the clinch. Dog lands with a short shot to the head. Rockwell is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Rockwell digs a right hand into Dog's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dog's gas tank. Rockwell lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Rockwell prevents a takedown attempt there.

A head punch on the inside from Dog fails to land. Rockwell presses Dog against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Junkyard Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Dog takes a swing at Rockwell 's ribcage but misses. Rockwell swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rockwell avoids the head kick by Dog.
Dog works Rockwell 's body with a nice hook. Dog misses with a body kick. Dog walks into a stiff left hand from Rockwell . Dog looks to land a left hand but Rockwell moved out of range nicely. Dog has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rockwell finds it's way round the side to connect with Dog's head. Junkyard Dog seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dog defending well as Rockwell loads up on a big left hand. Dog fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Dog bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Elliot Rockwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dog throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jab from Dog. Rockwell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dog moves away. Dog tries a head kick but it misses.
Dog throws a leg kick enabling Rockwell to counter with a crisp jab. Rockwell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rockwell half committed to a counter leg kick. Dog with a nice calf kick. Dog moves away from the strike by Rockwell . Dog throws a body punch but Rockwell moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Dog thows a left - swing and a miss! It looked like Rockwell was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dog. Rockwell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dog. Rockwell thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dog if he has to take too many more of those.
Rockwell works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Rockwell lands a nice looking kick to the body. Dog takes a step back to recover. Dog takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rockwell scoring well with a low kick there.
Rockwell shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dog eats them both and turns towards Rockwell to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Rockwell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dog. Rockwell takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Junkyard Dog is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rockwell misses with a shot to the body and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A low kick lands for Dog.
Dog is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rockwell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dog misses with a hook. Rockwell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rockwell clobbers Dog with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Junkyard Dog has been cut. Dog scores with a leg kick.
Dog lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Dog displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rockwell throws out the jab. Dog goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Rockwell looks to land a left hand but Dog moved out of range nicely. Rockwell with a nice cross. Rockwell misses with a hook
and Dog counters with a nice uppercut.
And that's the end of the fight! Elliot Rockwell showed his dominance in that final round. I think Dog has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
