Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gervais Lavigne (ranked 1526 p4p, 758 weight class) and Etienne Gueguen (ranked 76 p4p, 99 weight class). Etienne Gueguen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gervais Lavigne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Etienne Gueguen!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gueguen tries for a takedown but Lavigne circles away easily
and Lavigne counters with a nice uppercut.
Gueguen misses with a takedown
and Gueguen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Etienne Gueguen has been cut.
Gueguen clinches up against the cage.
Lavigne lands with a left to the head.
A short right from Lavigne.
Lavigne lands an elbow that stopped Gueguen in his tracks for a moment.
Gueguen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lavigne walks away with a smile on his face. Gueguen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gervais Lavigne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Etienne Gueguen.
Gueguen misses with a takedown
and Lavigne counters with a nice uppercut.
Lavigne swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gueguen tries to work over Lavigne's front leg with a kick but Lavigne checks it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lavigne misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Gueguen holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gueguen blocks a body shot from Lavigne.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Lavigne.
Lavigne lands on the inside with an uppercut.

A short uppercut from Lavigne.
Gueguen is trying to push Lavigne away but Lavigne has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Gueguen goes for a takedown attempt but Lavigne pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lavigne connects with a nice looking jab.
Gueguen is rocked!
That has opened up Etienne Gueguen's cut even more.
Gueguen throws a leg kick
and Lavigne counters with a big right hand! Oh Gueguen is in trouble here! Lavigne follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gervais Lavigne!
