Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Cotto (ranked 1091 p4p, 2338 weight class) and Monte Zuma (ranked 31 p4p, 91 weight class). Miguel Cotto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 43 - 26 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miguel Cotto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Monte Zuma!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotto connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Zuma closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cotto's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cotto wants to sweep but no luck.
Zuma pushes down on Cotto's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Zuma looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cotto is looking for a sweep. Zuma is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zuma is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Zuma fails to advance to Cotto's back.

Cotto wants to control but Zuma is having none of it.

It looks like Zuma might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cotto wants to control but Zuma is having none of it.

Zuma jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cotto manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cotto is looking to reverse the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cotto is not content to let Zuma control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miguel Cotto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zuma fails with the takedown.
An attempted straight right counter from Cotto misses the target.

Monte Zuma dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Cotto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zuma on the ground.

Zuma is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cotto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cotto is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Zuma is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cotto has escaped the position, nice work there.

Zuma goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cotto has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Zuma but great work by Cotto.

You can see the frustration on Zuma's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cotto loads up on a big right hand but Zuma slips the punch.
Cotto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cotto wants it to stay on the feet.

Zuma closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Monte Zuma is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zuma's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Zuma stops Cotto from getting back to his feet.

Zuma is looking to advance position but Cotto won't allow it.
Zuma perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Cotto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zuma is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Zuma moves into full mount! Cotto won't be happy about that!
Cotto stops Zuma from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Zuma controlling the pace for now.
Let's hope that Zuma has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Monte Zuma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Zuma winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Monte Zuma tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
In defeat, Miguel Cotto stepped up to the mic, saying 'This is the last fight in my career. I tired... i'm retiring.'.
