The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon moves in looking to clinch but Kid pushes him off.
Kid on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kid displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dixon throws out the jab.
Dixon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dixon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kid.

Dixon tries to sprawl but Kid drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Kid is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dixon has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Dixon wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

My spies in The House Of Pain inform me that Kid has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Dixon is trying to get back to full guard.
Dixon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kid's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kid's back!

Dixon sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Kid taps out!

After the fight, Darren Dixon was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
