Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jaro Lalla (ranked 1805 p4p, 2592 weight class) and Caio Barbosa (ranked 89 p4p, 124 weight class). Lalla comes into the arena with ЛЮБИ blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 16 - 2, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Caio Barbosa! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barbosa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lalla is trying to defend but Barbosa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Lalla actively working from the bottom here. Barbosa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lalla is refusing to be controlled, as Barbosa sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barbosa passes the guard and advances to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barbosa is stalling here but it's allowed Lalla to get half guard.
Barbosa works his way into full mount! Barbosa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lalla is looking to escape. Lalla is looking to improve his position but Barbosa isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barbosa goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lalla turns into him and now he's in Barbosa's guard.

Barbosa tries to get to full guard but Lalla has control of the leg. We've been hearing good reports from Lalla's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Barbosa works his way to full guard. Good work. Lalla works a leg free and moves into half guard. Lalla will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lalla trying to pass the guard but Barbosa defending well.

Not really close to a finish though. Barbosa is trying to get back to half guard. Lalla looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Barbosa manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lalla is working for a submission of some sort.

Lalla is looking for a kimura but Barbosa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lalla to get the leverage. Lalla is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Barbosa has managed to free his arm - good work. Lalla is trying to work for a kimura but Barbosa is defending well.

A close round but Caio Barbosa will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Barbosa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lalla's guard. Lalla throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Barbosa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lalla really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barbosa trying to control the position but Lalla is working away. Barbosa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lalla has escaped the position, nice work there.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Barbosa trying to control the action but Lalla is working from the bottom. Barbosa thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barbosa trying to control the action but Lalla is working from the bottom. Lalla prevents Barbosa from improving position. Barbosa controlling the position. Barbosa is looking to take a break and control but Lalla is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Barbosa moves into full mount! Lalla won't be happy about that! Barbosa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lalla has worked his arm free - good work by Lalla!

Lalla postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barbosa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lalla, into his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Barbosa wants to control for a moment but Lalla uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Barbosa is pressing down on Lalla's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lalla is holding on for now. Lalla looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jaro Lalla has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Barbosa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Barbosa trying to pass the guard but Lalla defending well. Lalla looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lalla looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Barbosa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lalla defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Barbosa wants to control but Lalla is keeping him busy. Barbosa trying to mount his opponent but Lalla defends it. Barbosa is still trying to improve position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Barbosa is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lalla's half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Caio Barbosa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Barbosa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
