Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marlon John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buck Rogers! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good shot there by John. Rogers lands a nice hook to John's body. John takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. John dodges the punch combination from Rogers.
John throws a quick counter head kick but Rogers was just out of range. Rogers smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. John throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rogers counters with a lovely shot to the body. Rogers throws a one two combo.
A chopping leg kick lands by Rogers. Rogers misses with a hook
and John counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Buck Rogers has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rogers throws a right hand that John ducks under and follows up with a left that John also avoids with ease. Rogers tests John's chin there with a solid looking shot. Rogers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
John appears to be looking for a counter takedown. John throws a jab when Rogers was well out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers lands the left hand. Rogers throws a wild combination but nothing lands. John steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rogers. Rogers digs a good hook to John's body.
John uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rogers.
Rogers clobbers John with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Rogers throws out a loose jab but John uses good head movement to avoid it. John attempts a counter takedown but Rogers avoids it well and moves away. John avoids a punch combination nicely.
John feinted with a counter takedown. John manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rogers on his heels. He'll look to pass Rogers's guard now, I'm sure. Rogers has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes John off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Rogers connects with an inside leg kick. Rogers clobbers John with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Rogers works John's body with a nice hook. Rogers misses with a kick to the body.
Good leg kick by Rogers. John uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rogers. Rogers throws a nice looking combination but John bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Rogers misses with an uppercut. It looked like John was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Rogers scores with a crisp jab that stopped John in his tracks. John misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rogers.
Rogers stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and John counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rogers misses with an uppercut. John tries to counter with a takedown but Rogers is quick to defend against it. John gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. John keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
John drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rogers sprawls and moves away. Rogers is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! John had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Rogers throws a jab when John was well out of range. A little feinted left hand from John on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. John takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
John takes a body punch but keeps moving. Buck Rogers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jab from Rogers.
It looks like Marlon John has been cut. John scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. A low kick lands for Rogers.
Rogers fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. John throws a body punch but Rogers moves out of range. John uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rogers. John uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rogers.
Rogers connects with a body shot that sends John's belly button to the back. Rogers catches John with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! John changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but John manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rogers is looking for the big counter here. Rogers throws a body kick that misses. Rogers misses with a wild combination.
John appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Rogers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but John was well out of range. Poor timing from Rogers. John is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Rogers misses the shot to the body. John changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Rogers moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Buck Rogers dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! John takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Rogers connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between John's hands. John uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rogers.
Rogers has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rogers fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt John. A low kick lands for Rogers.

Nice defenses there by John. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rogers slips a straight right by John. Rogers misses the shot to the body. Rogers scoring well with a low kick there.
John takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Rogers fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. John looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A nice inside leg kick there by Rogers. That's going to slow John down. Rogers feints and then cracks John's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow John down. Rogers misses with the combination.
John was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Rogers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by John. John tries to counter with a takedown but Rogers is quick to defend against it. Rogers throws a combination that misses and John counters with a right hand to the body. John walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. John will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rogers scores with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rogers stuns John with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. John takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Buck Rogers seems to be getting the better of the standup. Some wild striking there from Rogers.

Rogers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but John moves out of range and avoids them all easily. John half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. John takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Rogers ducks under a wild hook from John. Rogers lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
John fails with a takedown attempt. Rogers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. John half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and John counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rogers throws a low kick but John moves out of range easily. Rogers works over John's head and body with a nice combination. Rogers throws an off balance right hand
enabling John to counter with a crisp jab. A punch lands to the side of John 's head but he takes it in his stride. Rogers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rogers jabs John right on the nose. John blinks but takes it well. John drops Rogers with a big left hand and mounts him. Rogers is in big trouble!
Rogers is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! John cracks Rogers with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marlon John! An out of breath Marlon John thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
