Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Li Shuwen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 31 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Liquid Gold!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shuwen misses with a looping right.
Shuwen lands with a kick to the ribs.
Gold throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A big left from Gold misses.
Gold connects with a right hand. Shuwen shakes it off.
Shuwen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Shuwen throws a jab but it's blocked by Gold.
Gold on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Shuwen thows a left - swing and a miss!
And Gold responds with a good body kick, but Shuwen manages to step out the way in time.
Gold throws a shot from downtown. Shuwen moves away and avoids it.
Gold throws a body punch but Shuwen moves out of range.
Shuwen scores with a sloppy right hand. Gold should have avoided that one.
Gold pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gold throws a hook but Shuwen blocks it.
Shuwen shoots in for a takedown but Gold shows good takedown defense.
As Shuwen backs off Gold throws a huge counter combo but Shuwen manages to avoid it all.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shuwen walks into a jab.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Shuwen.
Shuwen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shuwen is working to tighten his grip on Gold's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gold has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Shuwen is really squeezing tight and eventually Gold passes out! Shuwen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Li Shuwen!
A less than humble Li Shuwen misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
