Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Papa John (ranked 23135 p4p, 19532 weight class) and Juan Diaz (ranked 510 p4p, 522 weight class). Juan Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Papa John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Diaz! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John moves out of range as Diaz strikes. Diaz misses the shot to the body. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Diaz. John shrugs it off though. Diaz looks to throw a body kick and John counters with a good low kick that Diaz was not able to check. Diaz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
John throws a big counter combination but Diaz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. John ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. John jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Diaz throws a body kick that misses. Diaz lands with a thumping leg kick.
John definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Diaz counters with a body kick that stops John in his tracks momentarily. John throws a low kick but it's checked well by Diaz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A jab from Diaz does it's job there. Diaz lands with a nice body kick. Diaz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. John tries to clinch up. Diaz misses with the body kick and John holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Diaz misses with a punch on the inside.
Diaz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
John takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and John has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diaz is looking to slow John down with leg kicks. John misses with a two punch combination.
A little jabbing left from Diaz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. John lands with a nice combination. Diaz backs away looking to recover. John rushes Diaz and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. John blocks a body shot from Diaz. John tries to stall but Diaz uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Diaz lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of John backwards. Diaz misses with a punch to the body.
Diaz dodges an elbow strike from John.
Diaz lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Diaz lands an uppercut. Diaz has a couple of punches blocked by John.
John throws a knee to the head but misses.
Diaz lands a right hand that snaps the head of John backwards. John is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Diaz working aggressively here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Diaz misses with a leg kick. Diaz jabs John right on the nose. John blinks but takes it well. John blocks a jab. John throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Diaz explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and John counters with a three punch combo that has Diaz backing up. Diaz nods at John to acknowledge the strikes. Diaz thumps John with a low kick. Diaz gets tackled into the ropes by John. John maintains the clinch. Diaz lands a shoulder strike. John tries to land knees in the clinch but Diaz avoids the damage to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz lands a shoulder strike. Diaz lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of John backwards. Diaz breaks the clinch.
Diaz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches John on the side of the head.
It looks like Papa John has been cut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz throws a solid leg kick but John takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Diaz. John thinks about countering with a body kick. Diaz is looking to land body kicks. Diaz lands a glancing blow to the side of John's head. John chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Diaz can pounce on him.
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
John throws a counter high kick but Diaz was just alert enough to avoid it. Diaz throws a body shot but no joy. Good work by John as he checks the leg kick. Diaz looking to land some kicks to the body here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Diaz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Papa John's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Diaz swings for the body but John moves out of range.
Juan Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup. Diaz misses with a looping right. Diaz misses with a low kick as John jumps back. Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Diaz throws a nice inside leg kick. John misses with a leg kick. Diaz connects with a right hand. John shakes it off. John blocks a low kick nicely. Diaz misses with a right hand and John counters with a two punch combo. Juan Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A quick step to the side and John tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A slapping leg kick lands for Diaz.
John moves out of range of the strikes. Diaz throws a combination. John tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as John checks a leg kick. John on the wrong end of a nice jab. John moves away from the strike by Diaz. John takes a shot right to the bread basket. Diaz connects with an inside leg kick. Diaz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Johns jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! John fails with an attempt to clinch.

John is rocked! Diaz scores with a nice right hand.
Oh John is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. An inside leg kick lands from Diaz. John is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Diaz doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! John crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in John's bad books for that mishap!
