Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Chang (ranked 2106 p4p, 789 weight class) and Beta Knox (ranked 240 p4p, 96 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Knox's choice of entrance music: Anthrax | Fight Em Till You Can't. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Beta Knox!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knox shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Knox was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Chang throws Knox to one side and escapes!

It seemed like Knox was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Chang makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
No luck for Knox with that takedown attempt.

and Knox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Chang is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Knox is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Chang is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Knox shoots in but Chang avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Knox's corner calls for a 1-2. Knox obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Knox cracks Chang with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Chang swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Knox appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Knox. That snapped Chang's head back.

Knox dives in and grabs Chang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chang pushes down on Knox's head and hops out.

Knox has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Knox scores with a crisp jab that stopped Chang in his tracks.
Chang has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Knox finds it's way round the side to connect with Chang's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Knox on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Chang. Chang obviously looking to wear him down.

Beta Knox dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Knox looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chang is fending him off so far but Knox persists. Nope, Chang circles away and we're back to standing.

Knox is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Chang with a body shot.

Knox has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Knox catches Chang with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Chang takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Chang lands with a thumping leg kick.
Knox goes for a double leg but Chang avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Chang continues to drive forward.

It looked like Chang was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Knox.
Knox uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chang.
Chang is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Knox.

Nice straight punches there by Knox. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Knox.
Knox sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Knox avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Knox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Knox somewhat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bruce Chang will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Knox is working Chang over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Chang wants to sweep here but Knox controlling him for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chang is on top in guard.

Knox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Knox checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Knox connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Chang lands with an uppercut that bounces Knox off the cage and back into range.
Knox doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chang counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Chang has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Chang is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Knox presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Knox throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Chang because Knox loaded up on that one.
