PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Kong (ranked 3411 p4p, 3236 weight class) and Johan Joestar (ranked 116 p4p, 122 weight class). Joestar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Coda - Bloody Stream kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johan Joestar!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joestar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Joestar throws a hook but Kong blocks it.
Joestar looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Joestar has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Joestar listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Kong blocks a jab.
Kong throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Joestar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kong ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A head kick from Kong lands but Joestar takes it in his stride.
Kong has his takedown stuffed
enabling Joestar to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Cole Kong has been cut.
Joestar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Joestar wants it to stay on the feet.
Joestar throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kong has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Kong drives through with a takedown into Joestar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Joestar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kong is controlling him.
Kong throwing strikes from guard but Joestar blocks nicely.
Kong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kong scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joestar wants to get back to his feet but Kong is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kong throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kong throwing strikes from guard but Joestar blocks nicely.
Kong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Joestar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kong loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kong trying to control the position from guard on top but Joestar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kong prevents Joestar from getting back to his feet.
Kong throws an elbow that misses. Joestar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kong's guard. Nice move by Joestar!

Kong is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Joestar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kong, up you get!
Joestar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kong's hands.
Kong ducks under a wild hook from Joestar.
Joestar bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kong looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Joestar shapes to counter with a head kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Kong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Kong does it's job there.
Joestar uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kong.
Kong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Joestar's waist but Joestar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kong off to one side.

Oooooh!!! Joestar has knocked Kong down with a huge combo! Joestar steps away and waves a wobbly Kong back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Joestar lands a big uppercut and Kong crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kong looks OK. Joestar waves Kong back to his feet!

Kong is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Joestar darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Kong's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Joestar before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johan Joestar!
