Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hjallis Kalske (ranked 2757 p4p, 7016 weight class) and Roman Zhdanov (ranked 302 p4p, 625 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hjallis Kalske!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Zhdanov!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalske shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Zhdanov is trying to defend but Kalske finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kalske slips a nice elbow through Zhdanov's hands, connecting with Zhdanov's forehead.
Zhdanov has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Kalske wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zhdanov keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kalske working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zhdanov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zhdanov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kalske throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Zhdanov escapes and throws Kalske's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Kalske is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here as Zhdanov stalls from top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kalske is trying to reverse the position but instead Zhdanov has taken his back - oops!
Zhdanov really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Kalske.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hjallis Kalske will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Zhdanov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kalske has time to react.

Kalske goes for a double leg but Zhdanov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Zhdanov continues to drive forward.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Zhdanov just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kalske's brow.

A frustrated look appears on Kalske's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kalske shoots for a double leg takedown but Zhdanov sprawls well. He's pushed Kalske's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Zhdanov throws out a loose jab but Kalske uses good head movement to avoid it.

Zhdanov sends Kalske crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Zhdanov is motioning to the referee to let Kalske up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A low kick from Kalske is predictable there
and Zhdanov counters with a crisp right hand that drops Kalske! Zhdanov lets Kalske back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Kalske is rocked!
Kalske lets loose with a powerful body kick. Zhdanov will feel that in the morning.
Zhdanov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Zhdanov blocks a low kick nicely.
Zhdanov cracks Kalske with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Zhdanov has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kalske to stand back up!
Oh Kalske is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zhdanov throws a jab but it's blocked by Kalske.
Kalske seems to have got his legs back now.
Kalske tries to land a body kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Zhdanov sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Kalske's defenses. It connects perfectly with Kalske's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roman Zhdanov!
