Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ko Van Den Born (ranked 410 p4p, 678 weight class) and Jet Gunner (ranked 69 p4p, 105 weight class). Jet Gunner acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ko Van Den Born!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jet Gunner!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Den Born fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gunner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Van Den Born misses with a hook
letting Gunner counter with a right hand.

Gunner tries to clinch up but Van Den Born circles away and keeps his distance.
Van Den Born was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Van Den Born on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gunner just misses with a punch to the body.
Van Den Born takes one to the side of the head.
Gunner lands with an overhand left.
Gunner throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Van Den Born tries to sprawl but Gunner drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van Den Born is looking for a sweep. Gunner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gunner wants to free his trapped foot but Van Den Born is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Den Born is controlling Gunner's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Van Den Born is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

and Gunner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Van Den Born looks to score with a jab to the body but Gunner is just out of range.
Gunner drops his hands momentarily and Van Den Born takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Jet Gunner has been cut.
Van Den Born tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gunner was well out of range. Poor timing from Van Den Born.

Gunner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Van Den Born seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gunner misses with a hook. Van Den Born ducked under it nicely.
Gunner lands a body shot.
Van Den Born drops his hands momentarily and Gunner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jet Gunner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunner throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Van Den Born scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gunner fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Gunner is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Van Den Born just misses with a punch to the body.
Gunner digs a good body shot into Van Den Born's ribs.
Van Den Born throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gunner sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Gunner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Van Den Born has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gunner has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gunner just misses with a elbow thrown towards Van Den Born's brow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jet Gunner dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jet Gunner's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gunner misses with a shot to the body
and Van Den Born counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Van Den Born takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Gunner rushes Van Den Born and presses him up against the cage.
A body shot lands from Gunner.
Van Den Born misses with the head strike.
Van Den Born lands a nice uppercut.
Van Den Born throws a punch but it's blocked by Gunner.
Gunner misses with an elbow strike.
A nice right hand lands inside from Van Den Born.
Van Den Born is working Gunner over against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Den Born breaks the clinch.
Gunner digs a good hook to Van Den Born's body.
Van Den Born misses with an uppercut. Gunner saw that one coming.
Van Den Born keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gunner.

Van Den Born throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gunner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gunner misses with a looping right.
The fighters circling - Van Den Born throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Van Den Born getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Gunner misses with a body punch
and Van Den Born counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Van Den Born feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gunner sprawling to the canvas! Gunner rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Van Den Born finish him?!

Gunner is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gunner is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Van Den Born doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Gunner crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Gunner's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ko Van Den Born!
After winning the bout, Ko Van Den Born thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
