Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pinero Chai (ranked 924 p4p, 1428 weight class) and Olyn Seran (ranked 115 p4p, 184 weight class). Chai comes into the arena with Styles P - Off The Ghost blaring out of the sound system. Seran has chosen Sound of Silence - Disturbed as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Olyn Seran!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai defending well as Seran loads up on a big left hand.
Seran moves into the clinch.
Seran fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chai has had enough of the clinch but Seran keeps him there for the moment.
Chai swings wildly with an uppercut but Seran uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice left hand lands by Chai.
I was talking to Chai's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Chai lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Seran ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Seran no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Seran had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chai defends it easily.

Seran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Seran is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chai decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Seran jumps guard but Chai stands there with Seran around his waist. Seran gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Seran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chai uses from the top position.

Chai is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Seran.
Pinero Chai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Pinero Chai will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Chai has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Seran celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
