Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hong Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Chief Chumbo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chumbo misses with an uppercut. Kong saw that one coming.
Kong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chumbo swivels and escapes.

Kong looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Chumbo!
Chumbo parries the strikes from Kong easily there. Kong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Chumbo to escape.
Kong cracks Chumbo with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Chumbo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Kong grinds an elbow into Chumbo's temple.

Kong tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kong landing a few strikes.

Kong tries for a kimura but Chumbo is defending well.
Kong scores with a couple of short elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chumbo is trying to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chumbo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kong goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Chumbo rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kong's guard! Nice work there by Chumbo!
Chumbo postures up in Kong's guard and throws a big left but Kong blocks it.

Chumbo content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kong has locked up a guillotine! Kong's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Chumbo is holding on here and Kong must be using up a lot of energy. Chumbo has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kong gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Hong Kong!
Hong Kong spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
